The Rassemblement National party, led by Marine Le Pen, has won the first round of the French Presidential election with 23.15% of the vote according to the official results released on Sunday evening. Emmanuel Macron's party, La République en Marche!, came in second place with 26.31% of the vote. Jean-Luc Mélenchon's party, La France Insoumise, came in third place with 21.95% of the vote. The remaining candidates failed to reach the 5% threshold required to qualify for the second round.
